Good News! The San Luis Obispo
Botanical Garden has broken ground on its Education
Center. We are very excited about this innovative
building which features many sustainable construction
features. The Education Center will be located
just up the road from the existing Preview Garden. |

It's a true community project thanks to the
Construction Technology Department students at
Cuesta College, who are doing the major part of
the building. The construction is expected
to take two years in order to meet the schedule
of the Cuesta College classes. Students
will receive an invaluable on-the-job experience
as they learn straw bale and other sustainable
construction techniques. |

Because of the
construction at the Garden, the Friends of San
Luis Obispo Botanical Garden will not host its
annual two-day Garden Festival this year.
Instead, the Botanical Garden will conduct a
Garden Tour of spectacular gardens in and around
the City of San Luis Obispo |
