“If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.”
Cicero

We have a unique, specialized collection.  Many of our books are not available in other libraries within the Ventura-Santa Barbara-San Luis Obispo area, even within the multi-county Black Gold Cooperative Library system.

Garden members may use the library during regular office hours (call 805.541.1400 for seasonal hours) and are encourage to visit Tuesday mornings (10 AM to noon) when the library is staffed by library volunteers.

Our collection is non-circulating and includes reference materials for garden staff and volunteer use, and materials of a more general nature.  There are books on the vegetation, flora and culture of the mediterranean climate zones(dry summer/cool & moist winters) of the world.  We also have a small section of children’s books. Come in and use our special library!
